Set up in 1997 by Laurent Tremeau, Héliotrope was created to support and promote films under an hour. With time, the European Short Film Festival of Nice was organized yearly by Héliotrope. Soon the association became the leading structure in film education for the Alpes-Maritimes department and co-created a writing residency with other festivals.

The European Short Film Festival of Nice „Un Festival C’est Trop Court!“ is a meeting place for audience and film industry. The festival offers many opportunities to exchange between professionals and film enthusiasts. Discussions are held both at the screenings and during the Nice Short Meeting, a meeting that gathers more than 400 professionals each year.

Seeing and showing films. The association’s aim to promote short films has remained unchanged since 1997. Every year, the festival widens the circle around this founding idea, in the hope of enriching minds and hearts with character and emotion.
