Héliotrope

Diffusion et promotion du court métrage

Set up in 1997 by Laurent Tremeau, Héliotrope was created to support and promote films under an hour. With time, the European Short Film Festival of Nice was organized yearly by Héliotrope. Soon the association became the leading structure in film education for the Alpes-Maritimes department and co-created a writing residency with other festivals.

THE FESTIVAL The European Short Film Festival of Nice „Un Festival C’est Trop Court!“ is a meeting place for audience and film industry. The festival offers many opportunities to exchange between professionals and film enthusiasts. Discussions are held both at the screenings and during the Nice Short Meeting, a meeting that gathers more than 400 professionals each year.

FILM EDUCATION Throughout the year Héliotrope carries out film education missions with many and varied groups. From encounters with film directors to filmaking workshops, these actions enable the young audience to talk about film with professionals and discover the creative process.

WRITING RESIDENCY La Résidence du Sud aims to accompany authors in their francophone scenario projects. It is carried by Héliotrope and 3 other associations from the region. Open to all, this residency is mainly intended for emerging authors with built and authentic projects. It offers personalized support for 4 authors and their script, thanks to regular follow-up over 9 months to make their projects a reality.

Watch and show films. The association’s aim to promote short films has remained unchanged since 1997. Every year, UFCTC continues to expand the circle around this founding idea, in the hope of enriching minds and hearts with character and emotion.
